Through the interior design development of Contour, we have been heavily influenced not only by the design of some of the world’s leading Michelin starred restaurants, but the shared ethos behind them. With an aspiration to create spaces that feel refined and elegant, and an emphasis on exceptionally well considered, and beautifully crafted spaces, the interior design allows the resident to feel totally immersed in their surroundings.
The interior finishes, forms and material palettes have been inspired by the buildings contemporary green anodized faceted aluminium façade as well as references to the Castlefield Basin, River Medlock and industrial backdrop of brick, and sandstone, from years gone by.
Internal architectural detailing has been heavily influenced by the buildings faceted façade, this can be seen in the faceted double height arrival space, feature reception copper ceiling, and a series of faceted timber forms at first floor level that provide partitions between amenity offerings.
Through the materiality of dark timbers, green granite and copper detailing, the interiors exude an elevated elegance that flows through the variety of amenities that Contour has to offer.
Our design process has given meticulous consideration to all aspects of the interior, from the shape, form and finish of loose furniture, bespoke joinery, right down to the angular form seen within the shape of the copper ironmongery. This gives a subconscious connection from the exterior architecture of the building right down to the minutest of touchpoint within the interior.
